Cuban President could upcoming US visit

White House open to Cuban President Raul Castro will officially visit the United States, a day after the two countries announced the normalization of relations.

"I do not exclude a visit by President Castro's Cuba," Reuters quoted a spokesman Josh Earnest said the White House yesterday. Cuban leader's visit is seen as part of a plan to normalize relations by President Barack Obama .

Mr. Earnest said Washington also consider the mechanism of action of the US Embassy in Havana, after closing in 1961. At the end of the following month, US Assistant Secretary Roberta Jacobson going to Cuba to discuss the process of recovery for the diplomatic relations.

US President Obama yesterday announced the normalization of relations with Cuba after more than half a century, and that the embargo is rigid policy and backward. Cuban President Castro welcomed the US move, saying Here is what his country had long awaited.

Observers believe that the biggest obstacle in the new relations between the US and Cuba embargo lasted for decades. The Republican takeover of both houses of Congress in November to close and is expected to interfere with the early elimination sanctions on Havana. The delegates of both the Republican refusal through funds to reopen its embassy in Cuba and hinder the approval of an ambassador to Havana.
